Do Ghanaian citizens need a visa for Sao Tome and Principe?

Ghanaian citizens who are planning a trip to Sao Tome and Principe aren’t required to apply for a visa if they wish to go for short stays (tourism).

But it’s required to obtain an electronic travel authorization (eTA or eVisa) before entering Sao Tome and Principe. This can also be done through the airlines.

Vaccination

Upon arrival you will have to show documents(yellow vaccination card) that proves that you have received vaccination against Yellow fever. You also have to protect yourself against Malaria. Some countries also recommend vaccination against Cholera, Typhoid Fever and Polio. As each country has its own recommendations for travelling abroad, consult your doctor for specific advice.

Money

The local currency is Dobra(STD), and we recommend that you bring Dollar or Euro to change to Dobra when you are in the country. You will get good exchange rates if you use one of the brokers by the market, but you can also use one of the banks to exchange money. Some of the hotels accept Visa and Master card and Local currency
